Nomadic Cabin was developed to replace Finnlough’s iconic bubbles with a more integrated, warm, and durable solution. The new structure combines wood and glass, replacing the previous transparent plastic base with a solid construction that responds cohesively to the surrounding landscape.
A key requirement of the brief was a strict size limit: the space could not exceed 30 m², occupying exactly the footprint of the former bubbles. This constraint guided the design of a compact, functional, and comfortable pod that recaptures the sense of shelter the bubbles once provided, while maintaining visual connection to the surroundings. A large window frames the landscape and becomes the central element of the experience.
Every detail of the cabin was carefully considered to optimize functionality, ergonomics, and spatial quality, striking a balance between aesthetics, warmth, and practicality. The result is an intimate, understated space where the architecture supports the guest without dominating, allowing the natural environment to remain the protagonist of the experience.
